Cold sore home remedies?
One popped up overnight, and I have plans with friends this weekend.
Anyone know any home remedies that work, and quick?
In order to make sure that your cold sore does not swell up beyond disbelief, apply an icepack wrapped in a wash cloth or plastic bag to your blister when you are not busy. This will help with any swelling that may occur, thus making the cold sore less noticeable. One of the best cold sore OTC ointments I have ever used is Campho-Phenique. This product is wonderful. It helps dry out the cold sore. It also helps relieve itching and pain. This ointment usually dries out my cold sores in two to four days. Make sure that you do not pick at the cold sore. When you bust the blister, it spreads the virus. Allow the blister to dry up and scab over on its own. Also allow the scab to fall away on its own. If you must, you can cut away any loose scabbing.

Lavender oil, not shore how long it will take, but lavender oil helps all sorts of skin problems!
