What is a good way to get rid of or prevent cold sores(fever blisters) on or besides your lips?

I get cold sores mostly because of stress and they piss me off so bad! I have oral medication and cream for my cold sores, but they keep coming back every fall and summer! I do NOT want to go into high school with these ugly blisters on my lips! It’s so disgusting! A little help please?

    Carmex it comes in a tiny canister with a yellow top, Its so powerful you feel a tingly sensation when you use it. Available at drug stores.
